Boeing / UC Irvine Case Study

The eSyncTraining team has more than a decade long relationship with The Boeing Company. eSyncTraining principals were originally approached in 1997 to help Boeing's web developers stay current with innovation in the dynamic world of software development solutions. Partnering with UC Irvine to offer continuing education and certification programs, the relationship prospered and Boeing's needs for training grew significantly. Founder and Chief Training Officer, Mike Kollen notes, "In my classes, students are building Rich Internet Applications right along with me. I needed a way for them to see what I was doing and build case studies in real time." As technology enhancements made synchronous training feasible, the firm pioneered a synchronous learning program and set up the Web E-Synchronous Training division which has been available for Boeing employees since 2005.

Leveraging the flexibility and functionality of the WebEx Training Center platform, Kollen was able to quickly develop courses as the need for them arose, offering custom Web development programs uniquely tailored to Boeing's specific project requirements. Finding tremendous success and significant travel cost savings in the synchronous format, all Boeing training classes were completed using this training method, helping the company become one of the leading users of Adobe's advanced web development tools. For his efforts, Mike received the UC Irvine 2007 Dean's Outstanding Service and the 2005 Distinguished Instructor of the Year Awards. Since then, eSyncTraining moved over to Adobe Connect and launched its services worldwide, taking advantage of the seamless integration of new features and applications to further enrich the learning experience to students around the globe. The firm continues its successful partnership with Boeing, offering a wide range of custom synchronous classes and certifications across software platforms through UC Irvine.
